Purpose-built for 3PLs and freight brokers
Kahala TMS automates your tendering, BOLs, rating, and carrier-invoice reconciliation so your team spends less time on admin and more time moving freight.

Delivered — POD captured
Invoiced & paid
Live dispatch
See every unassigned order, trip and carrier tender in one board. Drag orders onto a driver or subcontractor, and the BOL generates itself the moment it’s assigned.

Automated invoicing
Once every leg of an order is delivered, it lands in a ready-to-invoice queue automatically. Batch a customer’s orders into one invoice, and Kahala emails the branded PDF straight to them.
The rate engine
A rating engine, not a price list.
Every order is priced automatically from your customer agreements, zone-to-zone lanes, quantity bands, fuel levies and site accessorials — the same way, every time, with a full audit trail.

2 · Agreement
3 · Rate rule
4 · Fuel & extras
5 · Tax & total
Customer-specific agreements
Give a key customer their own tariff with its own priority and effective dates. It beats your standard rates automatically — and expires on schedule.
Zone-to-zone lanes
Define service zones by suburb and postcode (or city and ZIP). Rules match the origin zone and destination zone, or use a wildcard for “anywhere”.
Price on any basis
Per pallet, carton, space, cubic, kg, tonne, lb, short ton — or a flat price per shipment. Each rule chooses its own basis, metric or imperial.
Quantity bands
Break prices by volume, per unit or as a flat price for a band — like 22–34 spaces at a fixed B-double rate — with minimum and maximum charges.
Profile and temperature aware
Same lane, different service: rail express or standard, chilled, frozen or dry. Kahala scores every candidate, picks the best fit, then the narrowest band.
Fuel levy and accessorials
Effective-dated fuel levy by customer and lane, applied to freight. Site requirements at pickup and delivery add flat accessorial fees automatically.
Every price is explainable
Each priced order records the agreement and rule that produced its price.
No silent $0
Orders with no matching rate are flagged before they can reach an invoice.
Import, don’t retype
Upload a customer’s rate sheet. AI drafts the lanes and rules; you review and approve.
Costs priced too
A matching cost engine prices your subcontractor legs from their own cost cards.
US brokerage
Built for how US brokers actually work.
Kahala isn’t a domestic TMS with a US flag bolted on. Carrier vetting, broker authority, BOLs and US formats are part of the product — switch your organisation to the US and it works the way a US brokerage expects.

FMCSA carrier vetting
Check any carrier against FMCSA’s SAFER database by MC or USDOT number before you tender: operating status, common, contract and broker authority, insurance on file, safety rating, out-of-service flags and fleet size. Every check is saved, so each carrier builds a compliance history.
BOLs and PRO numbers
Tender loads to your carriers and Kahala generates the Bill of Lading pack for you, with one BOL / PRO number stamped per order and printed on the paperwork.
Your broker authority on file
Record your MC and USDOT numbers, SCAC code, BMC-84 or BMC-85 financial security and your insurance details — provider, policy and expiry — in one place.
US dollars, pounds and ZIP codes
Bill in US dollars, weigh in pounds, measure in cubic feet, and address with ZIP codes and states. Set your organisation to the US and the terminology follows: Bill of Lading, not connote.
Carrier payables and invoice matching
Price what you owe carriers from their own cost cards, and let AI read carrier invoices and flag any line that doesn’t match what you agreed — before you pay.
A portal for your shippers
Give shippers their own login to request bookings, track shipments and download invoices, so your team stops answering “where’s my load?” calls.
Integrations
Your accounting, already in sync.
Connect Kahala to Xero in a few clicks. Invoices, carrier bills and contacts flow between the two, so nothing gets typed twice and your books stay right.
Xero — available now
QuickBooks — coming soon
Invoices to Xero
Approved customer invoices are pushed to Xero as draft sales invoices with the PDF attached. Every charge type maps to your own chart of accounts, and a line with no mapping stops the push instead of posting to the wrong account.
Carrier bills to Xero
Approved carrier payables go across as draft bills with the remittance PDF attached, mapped to your accounts the same way, so accounts payable starts from what you already agreed.
Payment status comes back
When an invoice or bill is paid in Xero, or a credit note is applied, Kahala updates its status automatically. Your team sees what’s been paid without checking two systems.
Import contacts, your way
Preview your Xero contacts and tick which become customers, which become carriers, or both. Nothing is imported that you didn’t choose, and linked records stay in step through Xero’s webhooks.
Up and running in
No consultant. No lengthy onboarding. No IT department required.
